Happiness is Lubbock, Texas

Two thousand seventeen’s first senior session is officially in the books. I had a blast shooting Miss Reagan.

She’ll be starting school at Texas Tech in the fall and living in the same dorm that I did when I was a freshman! Both of her parents graduated from Tech, so she’s continuing her family's tradition. We chatted all about her plans to rush, where to get the best grub on campus, and how to survive the West Texas wind storms.

We had tons of clouds, wind and cold temperatures during her entire shoot, but she was quite the trooper. We wrapped her up with a blanket in between shots and kept her thinking of soup to help her power through.

This picture makes me smile. Reagan saw a big stick and said she should bring it home to her dad. Apparently, he’s pretty obsessed with dry brush and good fire-building wood, and I found it was super sweet that she thought of him. See, parents…our kids might actually be listening to us.

These little behind-the-scenes shots were taken by my BFF, Kelly. I mean…what kind of girl drags her seven months pregnant friend out in the cold at the crack of dawn and puts her to work. The kind of girl that knows said-friend has a great photo eye and zero ability to say “no”--- that’s who. Rest assured, I paid her with lunch and fantastic company ;-)

Adios, Cy-Ranch. Hello, Texas Tech.

As a momma, I can’t image being on the brink of sending my daughter off to college. So exciting to see them head into this brand new chapter of their lives but sad and scary to see them go off on their own. But, I have a good feeling about this one…I think she’s going to make her momma and daddy super proud. Reagan, it was an absolute pleasure getting to know you and being a part of such an exciting time in your life.
